Passport to the Arts - Canyon Road Artist Quick Draw

Saturday, May 12th

Artist Quick Draw 9:30 – 11 am
In this lively outdoor art event, 34 regional artists will race the clock to start and complete a work of art in a fast-paced 90 minutes - all under the watch of hundreds of mingling spectators. The Artist Quick Draw begins with a shotgun start at three locations. The Quick Draw challenges professional artists to create a finished piece, ready for sale, under the pressure of time and in public view. Artist List

Together, artists and onlookers will become absorbed in the creative process. Spectators will be caught up in the excitement of watching artwork in a variety of mediums come to life before their eyes, and will have the chance to ask the artists about their work and inspiration.

Quick Draw Live Auction 11:30 am

After putting down their brushes, palette knives, paints, and tools; artists will have just 30 minutes to prepare their works for sale, frame them if necessary, and deliver them to the Live Quick Draw Auction.

The smell of wet paint and excitement will fill the air when bidding opens at the Quick Draw live auction, which takes place at the Wiford Gallery’s spacious outdoor sculpture garden. All Quick Draw Artists will be on hand for this terrific event, and they have agreed to donate a percentage of the sale of their pieces to the Santa Fe Public Schools Music Education Program.

People interested in bidding in the live auction may register online through May 11th or at any Quick Draw location on the day of the event.
