Passport to the Arts
Your weekend begins with Friday evening art openings, special shows, and exhibitions that are planned at many of the one hundred galleries and boutiques that line Santa Fe’s historic Canyon Road. The experience continues on Saturday with myriad special events including an Artist Quick Draw and Live Auction, silent auctions, special demonstrations, and performances. The weekend of events concludes with a tour of historic buildings conducted by the Historic Santa Fe Foundation. Saturday Events Artist Quick Draw 9:30 – 11 am After putting down their brushes, palette knives, paints, and tools; they’ll have just 30 minutes to prepare their works for sale, frame them if necessary, and get their works to the Live Quick Draw Auction. Quick Draw Live Auction 11:30 am Register to bid at the Live Auction on the day of the event at any Quick Draw Location or click here to register in advance for the live auction. Silent Auctions 10 am – 5 pm Special Events 10 am – 5 pm Student Musical Performances 1 – 3 pm Jazz on Canyon Road 5:30 – 7:30 pm The Tribute Trio will perform at a free outdoor concert at Ventana Fine Art on the corner of Canyon Road and Garcia Street. Pianist John Rangel, Bassist Michael Glynn, and Drummer Cal Haines will honor the powerful influence of legends who helped shape the evolution of jazz, focusing on original compositions that compel listeners and musicians alike.
